We love to #bee informed

Did you know the top speed of a worker bee is about 20 miles per hour when flying to food and about 12 miles per hour when returning laden with nectar or pollen?

The honey bee’s wings stroke incredibly fast, about 200 beats per second, thus making their famous, distinctive buzz. A honey bee can fly for up to six miles.

A worker bee will visit 50 to 100 flowers before heading home. All day long, she repeats these round-trip flights to forage, which puts a lot of wear and tear on her body. A hardworking forager may live just three weeks and cover 500 miles.
